IDM Implementation for
EV Manufacturing Company
Project 1 (A): Infor Document Management (IDM) Implementation for EV Manufacturing Company
An EV manufacturing company in the USA, whose shop floor operations demand a review and approvals of several engineering designs was looking for a context-based document solution. We configured the Infor Document Management (IDM), created custom contexts and stored the specific document workflows. Apart from the standard built-in categories, we created multiple custom categories to organize the documents for easy search and trace. The purchase and production departments benefited from IDM as they had to continuously use the various documents related to the purchase and job orders.
The most important benefit for the customer is to have a central repository of business documents within the ERP available for users based on their roles and permissions. Documents integrated within departmental workflow and strong controls mechanism, bring a key benefit of security, correct and up-to-date information keeping all required approvers on the same page An expected 10-15% time saving is expected through IDM implementation.
IDM Examples
Teams work together to review and approve vendor quotes, purchase orders, payments, customer contracts, and inventory documents for smooth and accurate processing.
Vendor Quote
The Purchasing team secures quotes from different vendors. The quotes need to be reviewed by the finance team before being approved.
Vendor ACH
The purchasing team updates the necessary information related to ACH in the vendor master, that document will be by finance and process the payment.
Project 1 (B): Infor CSI Finance Module Implementation for Multi-Site EV Manufacturing Company
An EV manufacturing company in the USA with 3 sites of operations was using the logistics and production modules of Infor CSI. They were using an external finance application that posed challenges in the accuracy of the finance data and required more time to complete the transactions. The objective of implementing CSI was to have all departments connected to single software. MEC Bluechip Technologies was tasked to implement the finance module with multi-site configuration. After gathering the requirements, we proposed a 100% remote implementation approach. MEC Bluechip Technologies consultants worked with the CFO, controller and accounting team and went live in a few weeks. The customer also wanted some of the legacy transactions from the finance software to be transferred to CSI. Currently, the team is working on the 2nd phase which is generating financial statements from CSI through the Excel add-on tool. The immediate benefit was to have end-to-end business transactions in CSI and a 15% improvement in efficiency.

Project 1 (C): Field Service (FS) Implementation: After-Sales Service Optimization for EV Manufacturer and Supplier
Being an EV manufacturer and supplier, the customer chose the after-sales service business to optimize to improve the turnaround time in closing the service requests and thus improve customer satisfaction. They were using another native application to handle the customer requests which was disconnected from ERP. MEC Bluechip Technologies consultants presented the capability of the service module to the sales and support team of the customer. Real-time business scenarios were mapped in the module and jointly validated. The customer support team is working towards rolling out the module across the company from Jan 2024. The customer could get rid of the native system and save the employees’ time in processing the customer requests and could track the consumption of parts, warranty claims and service expenses. The complete implementation was done remotely.
